Hey! long time no see
I have been moving from Madrid to BCN, cities which are around 650km away and that is keeping me busy because I can’t neglect work time for doing it and even if I could the process put pressure into your head so you spend more time procrastinating than before. Nevertheless the moving is almost complete and I’m going to be using more and more time in KDE.
In what I’m going to use my KDE time:
BlueDevil:
- Finish 1.3 release
- Bug triage, fix’em all
- Fix a known bug in Wizard
Kamoso:
- Setup an environment where I can work with latest camerabin2
- Finish Kamoso port to camerabin2
libsolid:
- Make sure that MTP devices work well in KDE
- This may include write a MTP kio
Screen Management:
- Finally start to push code into a scratch repo
- Having something functional by 4.8 release
I think I’m going to focus in the latest (Screen Management) because is the one most people is waiting for and I’ve failed to deliver in a reasonable time.
This is it for now, see you!
If you are rewriting a sizable chunk of Kamoso can I request that you consider moving towards a libkamoso + kamoso structure.
I can think of a few places (systemsettings configure user and avatar setting in Telepathy) that could really benefit from it a widget/KPart/Dialog which shows the webcam a “take photo” button and returns a QPixmap.
Any progress on Plasma based BlueDevil? Thanks.
@David Edmundson: 1+ for the idea.
Thanks for working on MTP (in addition to the great bluetooth work). An MTP kio slave is a must-have, especially with android 4 switching entirely to MTP for file transfers.
Thanks a lot for your work. I’m really happy with your changes on the Display Configuration introduced on 4.7.1. I think we’re getting there
As for a comment I wrote on that article, it was originated from a nice Mac feature which stores the screen profiles between changes.
Luckily, some days ago I found that this same thing it can be done on Linux and somebody already implemented it on a shell script: https://github.com/wertarbyte/autorandr
I think having this auto-store/restore screen profile feature on KDE would be a huge win (maybe using solid for switching whenever there is a change?).
Just my 2cents
Keep on the great work!
